Platinum - Procyon Luster

The Procyon is an exciting new development from Platinum. Essentially, work was done on three components: the cap, the nib and the ink feed. The result is a modern writing instrument that sits well in the hand, always writes immediately and is very comfortable to write with an elastic nib.

The spring is not round, but has a pentagonal profile. This makes it more elastic than other steel springs.

The ink feed has a very deep air hole. This has the advantage that the fountain pen only needs to be dipped a little into the ink to fill it. The nib only needs to be dipped in, nothing more. The grip stays clean and you can still draw ink even when the ink bottle is almost empty.

The cap has a special mechanism that Platinum calls Slip & Seal. The inner cap seals perfectly around the grip. The advantage is that the ink cannot evaporate through the ink feed and the fountain pen does not dry out. Even after months, the ink is still fluid and the fountain pen writes immediately.
