Sailor Tamenuri green Urushi fountain pen
- A very special fountain pen from Sailor: based on the King of Pen size, this one is finished in a special Maki-e technique: the Tamenuri technique. Here, a base color is applied to the ebonite body of the fountain pen. In this fountain pen, it is a warm green tone. On top of this, several layers of a semi-transparent dark brown Urushi lacquer are applied. Each layer must dry for at least 10 days and is elaborately polished before the next layer is applied. As a result, the original color on the edges shines immediately.
- But the special thing is that the semi-transparent varnish becomes more transparent over time, showing more and more of the base coat. This process cannot be controlled, but is a very individual aging. In the process, the brushstroke from the application of the layers of varnish also becomes more and more visible.
- Limited to 88 pieces, this fountain pen is hand-signed and numbered by the Maki-e artist.
- It is filled with cartridges or with the converter provided. The fountain pen comes in an elaborate wooden box with "kimono" (silk pen cover).
