Kuretake Co. Ltd. was founded in 1902. To mark the company's 120th anniversary, 6 inks were released whose colors reflect the history of Japan at the beginning of the 20th century.
Peacock green was first introduced from the West in the Meiji period. Although the peacock was already highly revered in ancient times, no corresponding color was developed in Japan until the 20th century.
